RECESSION BUSTER

realknicksfans_yardsale

Times are tough, i feel that. I’ve been looking for ways to make some extra loot and have been saving where i can, shit i just got hit with a company wide salary cut at my job. So i was not surprised to see 3 separate people all get on the N train at 34th st last Saturday afternoon with big ass bags from Steve and Barry’s. They must have been taking advantage of the sale at the manhattan mall location. I also wasn’t surprised when the news broke last year that they were going bankrupt, the strategy of buying clothes for real cheap over seas and then shipping them the U.S. only to sell them for even less money rarely works out to well in business. I hope there aren’t a lot of Starbury’s in those bags or their will no doubt be some unhappy feet. Reminds of the time i made Victor a custom pair of Starbury-Fire Isiah’s….Classic…Yo Vic post the pic….

BIG LOVE

realknicksfans_eddie_crry_homo

You know its getting close to Valentines Day when a true love story like this one comes out. You read the headlines and see about sexual harrassment and  then start reminiscing about the good ol’ days of interns getting some in the limo and Anucha, beautiful Anucha. But then, woah woah oh woohoo….yikes…dont tell me….he’s been trying to pick up other dudes? and is a racist?? Woah this a hard one to swallow (pause).  All the gun stuff is easily believable, but the rest of it sounds like Kuchinsky may be cumming up with this by himself (pause). I guess we will have to wait and see if any more evidence pops up (pause).  In the meantime Eddie the walking heart attack time bomb Curry needs to stop daydreaming and lose some weight. For someone playing professional basketball you are waaay overweight. We will say what Mike D cannot say, YOUR FAT. LOSE WEIGHT. HIRE A PERSONAL TRAINER. GET HIT BY A TRUCK.

Don’t even know what to say about this.
Hilarious is one word.

Jimmy take it away…

Oh yeah in other news The Knicks beat The New Orleans Hornets 101-95 last night in a hard fought game.
They return to New York from their 1-3 road trip to play the wiz kids.

from first to last

Knicks Thunder Basketball

Well what the hell was that? Knicks fall to the worst team in the league.

The Knicks thought that after beating the NBA Champions, they could just show up to this game and have an automatic W. They looked lifeless, first by letting the OKC Thunder pass the ball around at will, not putting any pressure on the ball, and careless turnovers which turns to 63 first half points for the Thunder.

Nate Robinson has not been shooting the ball well recently and by the end of the game his confidence was totally gone. In the end if he would have taken some shots i think we could’ve taken the game. The rest of the team made an effort at the end of the third and start of fourth quarters, cutting the 23 deficit to 2 points, but that was it. We couldn’t pull it together.

Its a shame because this was probably one that we had a chance of winning if they would have played with heart from the begging, rest of the trip just gets tougher.

Child’s Play

Last night at exactly 11:02pm I got a text from my buddy Shaved Head Schaffer that read ” Knicks Suck”. OK not very eloquate but considering that this guy knows more about sports than most people twice his age meant it was not only true, but as eloquent as need be. They did suck, and about every other synonym of suck as well and that’s the truth straight from a schmuck from Queens.

I said it in the last post, we will see what this team is about on this road trip….It’s not over yet and ya gotta figure the next 3 games are going to be tougher than this one was. But to lose to the NBA’s worst team that basically is the sesame street of the league with all kids was way depressing.PLAY SOME DEFENSE.

Celtics Knicks Basketball

This one was  the Garden faithful who haven’t seen a win against the Celtics at home since Herb Williams was  the coach, for Quentin Richardson and David Lee for having to put up with all trash talk, that pizza guy who famously threw his jersey on the court after a dismal pounding by the Celtics on the road and the rest of  New York who can’t stand Beantown having the upper hand over us.
Granted it wasn’t a playoff game and it’s still January, but this win seemed to mean something for all the reasons above and one more….they have a chance to build off of this.  It’s the biggest win for D’Antoni’s kids so far, and once again defense was the reason. Even though he looks like he may be on crack, Jared Jeffries long arms created havoc for notoriously good roller skater Rajon Rondo and forced him to shoot 1 for 7 and the team held the Celtics to their 4th lowest point total of the season.

“If we can beat them we can beat anybody” Chandler said after scoring a career high 31 points. In the third quarter he matched the Celtics point for point with 15, his breakout performance as a Knick for sure. Other standouts where David Lee who had 14 and 14 with a few monster dunks and Al Harrington 30 off the bench.
It’s been almost 20 games since the cap room trades, enough time for a team to gel and know who they are. Over the these next four games we will get to see if the win meant anything to them. Are we contenders or lottery pickers? This is the biggest test of the season and will tell us exactly what type of team we have. Stay tuned, with all the trade rumors and Steph madness swirling around the city, things are going to be intense in New York once again.

Luck of the Irish

realknicksfans_stephechaun

Happy New Year indeed. ESPN.com is reporting that NYK cancer Stephon Marbury will look to sign with the Boston Celtics once his release is negotiated with the team. It has long been rumored that the Knicks will release Steph once the new year begins for tax reasons against this years losses to Jimmy Dolans w-2’s.

This is great, not only will the lid coming off story this help to get the price of his negotiation down, we also get to speculate on how much commotion it will cause in Boston. It seems to make sense on paper, a vet going to a good team to add some legs off the bench, but I have no doubt that if he becomes a Celtic he will figure out a way to blow up the chemistry of that team. When it’s done it could be a win-win for the Knicks, we get rid Steph and he ends up with a division rival upseting any chance they had a repeat.

WHERE KNICKS HAPPENS

Caught this video today after coming across Alan Hahn’s blog on newsday.com. Props to leb4825, he has a few other videos up on youtube that are worth checking out. As for this one, i love the ending.

David Lee=All Star

realknicksfans_david_lee

Ranked 6th in the league in both FG% shooting a .560 and rebounds per game with 10.7 DLEE has to start getting some props. He has been the biggest benefactor of the cap room trade of Zack Randolph by far. For a while I thought Wilson Chandler was going to shine and while he certainly has improved, has not played as well as David has. He’s had a double-double in every game since the trade and is posting 19.4 ppg, 14.6 rpg and and is 1.4 steals. The numbers don’t lie people.

We could use some All Stars this year after having zero for 3 straight seasons, so make sure to place your vote online or punch a ballot next time your out at the Garden and help get him to Phoenix.

WHO’S THE MAN?

Knicks Nets Basketball

Tied after 1. Down by ten at the Half. Down by 4 after 3. Then the knicks started to get some life and took a 4 point lead and for about 6 minutes in the fourth we got some quality basketball and it seemed possible that they could pull a W against one of the top teams in the west. Then Melcame alive. Hitting 5 straight shots and making it look easy. Way too easy. 5 straight jumpers or driving shots that gave the Nuggets an 8 point point lead and took all the confidence the Knicks had up until that point away. They continue to look weak in the all important 4th and it doesnt seem to be getting any better.

To be honest they looked scared down the stretch. The ball wasn’t moving smoothly between the players and several times they had to rush their shot just to beat the shot clock. And that won’t work under the Dantoni system. We need someone to who can step up and take control and a few weeks ago I thought that would be a Al Harrington, but lately he hasn’t stepped up. He has to learn to drive and shoot. The power dribbles, followed by an out of control behind the back dribble that usually just turns the ball over, need to be tamed. Too often he ends up making a turnover or taking a sloppy shot. The percentage just isn’t their and it has to get better to make the trades look like they make sense. The guy has boxing in his blood and needs to show that determination and fight  that we saw in the New jersey game and during the west coast trip.
